Orchid is one of the most fascinated plant, however this mean might a lot referred to those hybridized that have beautiful, big and last long flower. Basically, we might need be award of how much of wild orchid species we in the forest and those orchid first sources of those hybridized.
Within the existing resource, there is only 100 to 200 species of wild orchid are well documented in Cambodia. And as expert and some explorer said there are seem to be more than we have known. Ever though there new record in Cambodia are found so far but still have a limited according to lack of expertise and supporting project.
By this situation, Cambodia is need for more study attention of these potential flowering plant. And through my personal exploration and comparing with all of existing source of data there few species which are new for Cambodia from two different area (Kirirum Mountaine and Mundulkiri province).
Note that the identifying have been done based on morphology comparison and confirmed by the local expert of Cambodia.
